Leith Extension

This architectural project focused on designing a vibrant retail park situated in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre. The prime location presents several unique challenges, such as limited space and strict building regulations, that need to be overcome to deliver an exceptional outcome for the client.

One of the key challenges is maximizing the available space to accommodate a diverse range of retail units while maintaining an open and inviting atmosphere. To address this, our design incorporates innovative spatial planning, efficient circulation routes, and thoughtful integration of landscaping elements. This ensures optimal utilization of space while creating a welcoming environment for shoppers.

Another challenge is adhering to the strict building regulations and historical preservation guidelines that characterize Edinburgh’s city centre. Our team of experienced architects works closely with local authorities and heritage organizations to ensure compliance and preserve the city’s architectural integrity. This includes seamlessly integrating the retail park’s design with the surrounding historic context, utilizing materials and façades that blend harmoniously with the existing urban fabric.

The benefits to the client are numerous. By leveraging our expertise in retail architecture and urban design, we create a dynamic retail park that meets the client’s goals of attracting customers, increasing footfall, and enhancing the overall shopping experience. The thoughtfully planned layout and visually appealing design contribute to a memorable and enjoyable visit for shoppers, encouraging longer stays and repeat visits. Additionally, the integration of sustainable and energy-efficient practices in our design provides long-term cost savings for the client while promoting environmental stewardship.
